4 Tips to Instantly Improve Your Style
(Men’s Fashion)
Knowledge in men’s fashion is one of the most important skills that benefits you for years to come. A person makes their first impression of you within the first 5 seconds. Wearing good, clean clothing that fits well and is stylish does wonders to leave a great first impression. If you want to be treated better and receive attention from your peers, style is your best friend. You might be going, “Oh but I don’t really care about style or- or fashion. That seems like a lot of effort and I don’t think it’s that important.” However, if we compare life to a video game, then your accessories and clothing are giving you stat changes right now. Men’s fashion boosts your confidence, attractiveness, and charisma which is useful for many areas of self-improvement.
1. Trends
I can almost guarantee you’ve seen trends before. A fashion trend is a style of dress that becomes very widespread and popular for a certain amount of time before falling off to a certain degree. Each generation has their own series of trends and it’s important to realize that different people, and different groups, have different tastes. There is no “universally right answer.” Today a trend for middle to high school age boys is to wear gray sweatpants with a fitted shirt. However, fashion is fickle and there’s no telling whether this trend will be popular even in the next year. As such, you should never follow trends blindly.
2. Color Combinations
Certain color combinations are more striking and aesthetic than others. Here are some examples.
- Blue & gray
- Blue & brown
- Blue & white
- White & black
- Green & beige
Not everyone has the same favorite color set. Find the one that works for you. Using colors to group sets of clothing together will boost your style simply because you aren’t mixing and matching anymore. This helps coordinate your outfits and achieve a fashionable look.
3. Casual Clothes
Let’s say that sports and exercise clothes are what you like to wear but you don’t think your style is up to par. However, you like how comfortable and casual athleisure is. This includes brands like Nike and Adidas. Most likely you’re picking out one clothing piece at a time. A shirt you like, and then some pants you like. Maybe your mom buys the rest. Mixing and matching your clothing at this point is going to give you an unnecessary headache as well as stop everything from flowing together. What you should do when buying clothes is buying pieces that go together. Your shorts and shirts can be the same brand and color. Buy multiple sets to alter your look each day and try not to wear the same thing every day. By doing this, your style will improve a lot without even getting deep into fashion.
4. Accessories
The importance of accessories cannot be understated. Not only can they enhance your look, but they will also make you stand out from the crowd. Accessories include necklaces, bracelets, and rings. They can come in multiple different materials. Most common are various metals which mainly come in silver and gold colors. I personally recommend silver for a classier and school-appropriate statement. An alternative to silver is stainless steel which is cheaper and looks the same. However, lower quality pieces may contain harmful substances like lead, can break apart easily, and possibly turn your skin green. It’s also worth mentioning that there are many elements to accessories, including more than just jewelry.
